A Rwanda gorilla permit is an entry pass or card that enables a visitor to enter the Volcanoes National Park for gorilla trekking. The permit is issued by the Rwanda development Board (RDB), a government body in charge of wildlife protection and conservation in Rwanda.

Gorilla Permit Booking in Advance

To book a gorilla permit low and high seasons, it is advisable to do so at least 6 months in advance. But for low season permits, you can always secure permits on short notice. High season gorilla trekking occur in June, July, August, September and then December, January and February. Gorilla Permits during these periods are on high demand, and booking them in advance is highly advisable. How to book a gorilla trek in Rwanda?

Booking permits is done through your chosen tour operator or directly through the Rwanda Development Board (RDB). To book the permit, passport details are required for presentation to Rwanda Development Board. There are 10 Rwanda gorilla families available for trekking and only 8 people are allowed to visit a particular group in a day.
