Gorilla Trekking and Uganda Wildlife Safaris – 10 Days
This gorilla trekking and safaris in Uganda involves visiting some of the major tour attractions in the Pearl of Africa. These include going to Lake Mburo National Park for game drive and boat ride and Bwindi Impenetrable Forest for gorilla trekking. The holiday trip continues to Queen Elizabeth National Park where you will spot tree-climbing lions in Ishasha sector plus a game drive in the north of the park. You will also do a thrilling boat cruise on Kazinga Channel and conclude the tour by visiting Kibale National Park where chimpanzee tracking and Bigodi nature walk are the activities of the day.
Day 1: Arrive in Uganda, transfer to Kampala for overnight
Arrive at Entebbe Airport and be transferred to Kampala for dinner and overnight stay at Cassia Lodge or Urban by City Blue Hotel.
Day 2: Drive to Lake Mburo National Park in Western Uganda
Take breakfast and leave Kampala in the morning for Lake Mburo Natyional Park after about 4 hours on the road to western Uganda. On the way, you will cross the Uganda Equator line at Kayabwe in Mpigi and move further as you are pleased by the green vegetation and attractiveness of Uganda. Arrive at the park around midday and have before going for an afternoon boat ride on Lake Mburo. You will also enjoy an evening game drive in search of zebra, impala, eland, topi, oribi, cape buffalos, antelopes, leopards, hyenas and jackals. Dinner and overnight at Mantana Tented Camp or Rwonyo Rest Camp.
Day 3: Game Drive and Continue to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Have breakfast early enough and set off for Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, the habitat for the rare mountain gorillas. Bwindi Impenetrable National Park inhabits almost half of the world’s 850 mountain gorillas. Stay at Buhoma Bandas, Silver back Lodge or Mahogany Springs for dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Gorilla Trekking Adventure in Bwindi Forest
After an early morning breakfast, you will go for a briefing from the guide who will lead you while gorilla-tracking through the steeply forested and fine-looking scenery along several trails. The height of the trip is you come across the calm endangered mountain gorillas, an exciting and excellent experience. After an hour with the gorillas and picnic lunches in the forest, return to your accommodation for relaxation. Day 5: Drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park, enjoy a Ishasha Game Drive in Search of the Tree-Climbing Lions
Take breakfast and leave for Queen Elizabeth National Park going through the southern sector of the park known as Ishasha, renowned for its tree-climbing lions. This Park is a UNESCO World Biosphere with one of the highest biodiversity ratings of any game reserve in the world. About 100 mammal species and a significant 606 bird species like Elephants, hippos, the elusive giant forest hog and the handsome Uganda kob inhabit the park where they are frequently seen. Overnight and dinner at Jacana Eco-lodge, Mweya safari Lodge or Institute of Ecology.
Day 6: Game Drive and Boat Cruise on Kazinga Channel
Take breakfast and leave for an early forest walk in Kyambura Gorge in look for of primates and chimpanzees. Return to the lodge for lunch and have a boat ride along the Kazinga Channel with prospects of seeing hippos and buffalo in the shallow waters at close range from the boat. Kazinga Channel shoreline is a home to a collection of birds including the pink backed pelicans, fish eagles, pied and malachite kingfishers, saddle billed stork and many more. Dinner and overnight at Jacana Eco-lodge, Mweya Safari Lodge or Institute of Ecology.
DAY 7: Game Drive and Continue to Kibale National Park
Have a min morning game drive and depart after breakfast for Kibale National Park, the biggest habitat for chimpanzees in Uganda. Have the benefit of game viewing en-route toward Kibale forest. You will be staying for two nights at the Ndali Safari Lodge, Primates safari Lodge, Kibale Forest Camp or Crater Safari Lodge on full board.
Day 8: Chimpanzee Trekking and Bigodi Nature Walk
Have your breakfast and drive to the offices of Kibale Forest National Park for pre chimp trekking briefing followed by hike into the jungle. A guide will enlighten you on the primates you are to see as well as the forest plants and animals. This morning hike will expose your eyes to chimpanzees, phoestes, red-colobuses and red-tailed and grey cheeked Mangabeys. Return to the lodge for lunch and in the afternoon, visit Bigodi swamp, an astonishing place to watch rare and gorgeous flora and fauna. Dinner and overnight at the Ndali Safari Lodge, Primates safari Lodge, Kibale Forest Camp or Crater Safari Lodge on full board.
Day 9: Drive back to Kampala
After breakfast, drive to Kampala where you will arrive in the early afternoon. Lunch, dinner and overnight at Speke Hotel or Cassia Lodge on full board
Day 10: Airport Transfer
