Trip Itinerary
Day 1: Fly from Entebbe to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
You are picked from wherever you are in Entebbe or Kampala and then transfer to Entebbe Airport from where you will fly in charter plane or scheduled flight to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. The flight time is 1 hour when you land in Bwindi, a waiting driver will transfer you by road to the lodge for a restful day and overnight. You can do a community walk and enjoy the African traditional dances. Have lunch and relax at the lodge preparing for the next day’s gorilla tracking safari in the forest. Dinner and overnight at Mahogany Springs, Silver back Lodge or Buhoma Lodge.
Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi National Park
After breakfast, drive to UWA park headquarters for briefing about gorilla tracking. After briefing you will go for trekking which takes about 2 to 8 hours. You will have one hour only with the gorillas. During the trekking you may spot birds like the Short-tailed Warbler, Rusty-faced woodland Warbler, Bar-tailed Trogon, Gruer’s Rush Warbler, among others animals like the black fronted duikers, South African porcupines, golden monkey, giant forest hog, bush-buck, buffalo, bush pigs, buffaloes, elephants, jackals, Black and white colobus monkey, chimpanzee. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay
Day 3: Transfer to the air strip and fly from Bwindi Forest to Entebbe Airport
After breakfast you will be driven back to the air strip for your connecting flight to Entebbe Airport. At Entebbe, you may either keep around and take your next flight or be transferred to your lodge/hotel for dinner and overnight.
